Ratings
In general, when things are rated on this site, I use the following scale:
- Superb
- Great
- Good
- Fair
- Mediocre
- Poor
- Terrible
When things are rated in a number of categories, I apply a numerical value to the ratings, average them, and then include an Overall Rating using the same terms. Genre ranks are determined by averaging genre-specific ratings (e.g. Stunts, Swordplay, and Panache in the case of Swashbuckling Rank).
N.B. This scale, commonly referred to as a trait ladder, was originally created for Fudge, a role-playing game written by Steffan O’Sullivan. (For more information, please visit What Is Fudge? on the Grey Ghost Press, Inc. site. My own gaming sites, Fudgery.net and the Web log Fudgerylog, also discuss Fudge as well as other games.)
