Cuplog by Any Other Name

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

I am contemplating a new name for Cuplog. I could just make it the main page of Cuparius.com and call it Cuparius.com, but I am hesitant to do so because Cuparius.com was around long before this Web log and I can’t shake the feeling that they are two separate entities. I’ve never been satisfied with the name “Cuplog,” however. It lends itself too readily to mispronunciation on the order of Klingon swearwords, e.g. “kuh-PLAHG!” I am considering three alternatives:

  1. Fragmenti Cuparii
  2. Ephemeris Cuparii
  3. Cuparia

If you have a preference, please leave a comment. If you have a suggestion for another name and I choose it, I will give you credit in the About page. Cuplog is ready for a reincarnation of nomenclature.

A photograph of Physalis alkekengi, also known as Japanese Lantern, Chinese Lantern, Winter Cherry, and Bladder Cherry. According to the Wikipedia entry, “In Japan, its seeds are used as part of the Bon Festival as offerings to guide the souls of the deceased.”
