I ought to have called this group of flowers “Pink Peony” and the other entry “Pink and White Peony,” but I didn’t foresee this one springing up. Thus the surprise. The fourth photograph is of a bud on the same plant with a wee visitor. This is therefore the fourth peony to bloom in my front yard:
