(This Space Reserved for Title of Something Worth Printing)
And... since this isn't worth printing...
Let me see... There was something I wanted to write...
Commence firing random thoughts...
I finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I'm looking forward to reading the British or Canadian edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. That's right, I'm still boycotting the Americanized editions. Sometimes it doesn't take much to provoke me to boycott something. And let's face it, there are a lot of things worth boycotting in this world, and if more people boycotted them, perhaps there would be some reduction of mediocrity. If you resign yourself to being a passive consumer, then you might as well expect the least and the worst, because that is what you will get.
Mind you, some might call my methods of boycotting passive because I don't wave placards and shout at passersby. What I mean by the "passive consumer," however, is one who doesn't even allow his or her conscience or standards to guide personal purchasing decisions. It's easy enough, really. If you find something to be poorly made, don't buy it. If their advertisements are patronizing, offensive, or otherwise an insult to your intelligence, don't buy it. (Television and radio commercials have no effect on me ever, except to persude me to boycott the businesses or products they are advertising. If I need or want something, I research it myself. I have never purchased something because of a commercial, but I have made lifelong vows not to purchase something because a commercial got on my nerves.) And if a company supports, promotes, or contributes to a cause or organization that you feel is unethical, don't become an indirect supporter or contributor by being their costumer.
I seem to have strayed from the subject a bit. I may have addressed this subject in a previous update, too; I apologize if I am repeating myself. Once again, I am updating the Cuparium at an ungodly hour with nary a plan.
Why am I updating now? If I had anything to say, I've forgotten it. I don't wish to discuss the Harry Potter books until I've read the latest one, so I'm not sure why I mentioned it at all. I guess I'm just letting my friends know that I'm still here. Thanks for checking in occasionally, by the way. I'll try to make more sense here in a few more days, perhaps when I'm awake. I can't promise anything, though. Ta'ra for now.
I'll keep posting if you keep reading. Be seeing you... :-?
