Is It? Could It Be? Yes! An Update!
You can update / You can do it! / You can update / Yes, you can!
Some people who tinker with web logs like to mention the music they are listening to or the music they are in the mood to listen to as they are typing a new entry; it is the soundtrack to the film of their journal-writing lives. I assure you I am neither listening to the theme to Bob the Builder, nor am I in a mood to listen to it, but this isn't a web log, so who cares? It is but a monotonous little jingle to motivate me to update the Cuparium. Somehow, in writing this, I seem to have lost my motivation. Alas, how brief is inspiration where its glory is greatest. This paragraph has irreversibly devolved, so let's try again, shall we? Smashing!
Hum dee dum dee dum. What? Och, try again. Right!
Last time, I mentioned I would see Errol Flynn's pirate movie, The Sea Hawk (1940). It wasn't bad; it wasn't stratospheric either, but not bad. His part in Captain Blood (1935) was better, but the performer who really shined was Dame Flora Robson, who played Queen Elizabeth. I learned from IMDb.com that this was the second time she had played this role, the first being in the film Fire Over England (1937) with such co-stars as Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. I look forward to seeing that one. Robson's Elizabeth is the best I've seen. Although, I haven't seen Sarah Bernhardt's Elizabeth in Les amours de la reine Élisabeth (1912) yet, so it might be premature to assert that Robson is unsurpassed. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if Bernhardt's performance is even available, being a silent film. (Too many great films of the silent era have been lost.) At any rate, Robson stole the show, and I have added her to my list of favorite actresses.
Yesterday I watched The Incredibles again. The consensus was that it was even better the second time we saw it. I wish Pixar would make a movie of The Tick with the same voice actor, Townsend Coleman, who played the role in the animated series, and written by Bill Edlund, the creator of The Tick. Speaking of voice actors, I've added VoiceChasers.com to the links page. And speaking of that and my favorite actresses, Melissa Fahn is one of my favorite actresses because of a role she played in Cowboy Bebop as a girl genius/weirdo named "Ed" who christened herself Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky the IV. And speaking of voice actors, favorite actresses, and The Incredibles, I think I'll add Sarah Vowell to the list.
In order to save some material for a final update in July (30th or 31st probably), I shan't go on at length about the Harry Potter puppet show I performed this month for large crowds of Potter fans. I am saving it until I have the photos of the event, which I can then upload to the Cuparium. Ta'ra for now!
I'll keep posting if you keep reading. Be seeing you... :-?
