NEWLY UPDATED

lists (2 new lists)

Once More Unto the Breach

It was announced yesterday (November the 12th) that Ralph Nader succeeded in his bid for a recount of New Hampshire's 2004 Election results. The following is quoted from his Web site, www.VoteNader.org, where you can read the press release in full:

"A hand recount will either rule out the possibility of machine error or show a discrepancy in the Diebold machine and the actual vote either way voters need to know," said Nader. "Regardless of whether it changes the electoral outcome, the Democrats should join us in this effort and follow through on their repeated promises to make sure every vote is counted in Ohio and other states."

It concludes with this statement:

The Nader-Camejo campaign does not view the election to be over merely because concession speeches, which have no legal effect, have been delivered. Rather they are over when every vote is counted and legally certified.

That's Ralph, doing what he was born to do and doing it best.

In addition to the voting-related Web sites I linked last time, namely:

I would like to direct you to the following:

I have read some interesting articles on the subject of our hijacked election, the 58,000 missing votes in Florida, and the disturbing media lockdown that has largely silenced the mainstream media from investigating or questioning the results of the election. This, my friends, is why people are wondering why they haven't been hearing anything about this. The press has been soft on news and soft on political wrongdoing because, like some Democrats, they are afraid of being called names by Republican politicans and right-wing hacks (also known as pundits). I say to them, "Suck it up and start acting like citizens!" If these were still the days when every city had two or more competing newspapers, the headlines would be screaming for action. If the FCC had not abrogated its responsibility to ensure the use of the airwaves for the public good and prevent media consolidation and monopolization, then you can be assured you would be hearing about this. Thanks to the government's refusal to enforce anti-trust laws, the radio, television, and print media have fallen into fewer and fewer hands, resulting in the steady decline of programming diversity, the decline of job availability in the field of broadcasting, and the skeletonization of organizations that report the news. Democracy cannot exist without free and independent news organizations, my friends, just as it cannot exist without free and fair elections. And to those who say that we must accept the reliability of our news as well as the fairness of our elections "by a leap of faith," I say faith is for religion; news requires facts; and ELECTIONS REQUIRE PAPER TRAILS, ACCURATE COUNTS, AND THE FREEDOM TO CAST ONE'S VOTE REGARDLESS OF RACE, RELIGION, GENDER, ECONOMIC STATUS, OR PARTY AFFILIATION.

I could go on, but I'll save it for my next update a few days hence.

I intend to post a list of persons to contact regarding the need for a recount, the need for investigations into voting improprieties, the need for a nationwide ban on electronic voting machines, the need for nationwide voting security standards, and the need for a nationwide standard voting procedure. And someday, hopefully, we'll get the Constitutional Amendment that matters most of all: the one that puts an end to the Electoral College that has made us the laughingstock of the world and replaces it with the election of presidents by direct popular vote. Meanwhile, I would like to point you to the media lockdown link again, because it has an extensive list of people to contact. My upcoming list will have a narrower focus: the current one emphasizing state-by-state recounts. Watch for it in the next few days.

Stay informed, stay determined, stay active, and
don't forget
don't forget
don't forget: the 2004 Election results are still UNOFFICIAL.

Peace.

I'll keep posting if you keep reading. Be seeing you...       :-?
