Random Title...
...for a random group of topics. Where to begin? What does it matter? Onward!
I have honored my second anniversary of not smoking cigarettes by filling up one of my Zippo lighters and not using it to light a cigarette. There was a time when I was smoking over 7,000 cigarettes a year. And over 300 cigars a year. And gods know how many bowls of pipe tobacco a year. Now, however, I smoke ZERO cigarettes, twelve or fewer cigars, and twelve or fewer pipes a year.
The first two episodes of the new season of Joan of Arcadia have been good, which is good. It is oddly appropriate that it airs on Fridays.
In a topic long overdue, I didn't attend Origins or GenCon this year. I kept missing deadlines for event submissions and pre-registration and I hadn't saved enough money, so I decided to try again next year. In fact, I ought to start saving money and making preparations now. Or tomorrow.
If you wish to see a good movie about politics, watch The Farmer's Daughter, starring Loretta Young, Joseph Cotten, and Ethyl Barrymore. I can't say more than that; you just have to watch it. Well, all right, it's a bit of a romantic comedy, and it makes some excellent points, and it's timeless and relevant and entertaining.
And just to remind you whilst I am jumping from subject to subject: Rent or buy The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra I command you!
Back to the subject of gaming (briefly), I have two Web sites that I may or may not be launching in the near or not-quite-so-near future and I may or may not link them here. INTRIGUE!
For those who do not know, I am a lifelong independent (meaning I do not belong to a political party), but I have never been apathetic. I pay close attention to the news and try to be well informed about local, national, and international issues. I have been a registered voter since the age of eighteen and I take my duties as a citizen seriously. The consequences of being silent in an election of this importance are too great, so at the risk of alienating those who are uncomfortable with political discussion, I am declaring my support for John Kerry. If you are registered, I urge you to vote. If you are not registered, register now. In any event, make an informed decision. Regardless of your choice, take care.
I'll keep posting if you keep reading. Be seeing you... :-?
