NEWLY UPDATED

Please Stand By

Bamf!

I bought a few books from my local public library today, including Pure and Impure by Colette, and Slavery in Ancient Greece by Yvon Garlan. There is no connection between the two. The former was a book I first read when I was 16 simply because it caught my eye as I was browsing one day, and the latter fits into my interest in history and classical studies. Because we all know I don't have enough books. Right?

There's more to tell, but it's late, so I'll save it for next time. Ta'ra for now...

Succinct Notes

Note to self: Buy several more timers.

Site-Seeing

Break it up. Show's over. Nothing to see here. Move along.

From the Bookshelf

The book I am reading during lunch breaks is A Massive Swelling: Celebrity Re-examined As a Grotesque, Crippling Disease and Other Cultural Revelations by Cintra Wilson. Simply scathing >:]

At the Cinema

I saw X-Men 2 (also known as X2) on Sunday. And then I saw it a second time on Wednesday. I must say I enjoyed it more the second time. I enjoyed it the first time, too, but in a movie with so many mutants I believe a second viewing is required. So see it twice. I tend to eye sequels with justifiable skepticism, but Marvel has succeeded where DC has consistently failed. Godspeed, Marvel. Make many more movies.

Actually, I'll need to see it a third time because I still couldn't detect Stan Lee in any of the scenes.

On the Telly

I need to look into whether Crossing Jordan is shot in Boston (where it is set) or Los Angeles. I suspect the latter, although why they should find it necessary to create the illusion of Boston when a real Boston exists is a question that could impel me to rant about the desperate need for this nation's entertainment industry to be forcibly decentralized for the good of Mankind. If it is filmed in or near Los Angeles, I shall have to discontinue watching it.

Quotations, Possibly?

"What are you doing in here?"
--Lady Deathstrike's only line in X-Men 2, to which my response is, "She was robbed!"

I'll keep posting if you keep reading. Be seeing you...       :-?
