NEWLY UPDATED

Please Stand By...

Back on Track

One of the two of you who visit the Cuparium may have noticed that there was no update last Monday. After several consecutive weeks of consistent updates every Monday morning, the Cuparum Express derailed before reaching its destination. Such a minor catastrophe is inevitable when the switch operators are working unusual shifts with inadequate amounts of sleep. This week, however, we are back on track and right on schedule. All aboard!

Quite a set-up, eh? Now, where was I? Missing update, excuses, train analogy... Ah, now I have it. Wait... No, I don't. What was I...? Who..? Where...?

At any rate, I'll try to keep updating the Cuparium every Monday morning for consistency's sake. Let's here it for consistency! Three cheers! Hip hip... oh, forget it.

Site-Seeing

Why do you want to go looking at websites when there are so many wonderful books to read out there? Visit your local public library or book shop. If you must persist with this "Internet" tomfoolery, then visit Advanced Book Exchange and order a book online from an independent book seller. They are civilization's last hope.

From the Bookshelf

Do you want to know what I've been reading lately? Websites. Pathetic, eh? Ah, sure, it's entertaining and sometimes informative, but it's Hades on the eyes after a while, and nothing can compare with the sublime satisfaction of holding in one's hands an actual book with weight, texture, and scent (perhaps even a soul). I could wax unbearably poetic for a great length of time in praise of books, real books, but I shall restrain myself... for the time being.

At the Cinema

Fate has repeatedly situated herself betwixt myself and a viewing of Gangs of New York since the film first hit the cinemas. I dare not venture a guess about her reasons, but it is good to see Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in an excellent cinema with stadium seating and great acoustics whilst one still has the chance. Last Wednesday was my second viewing, and I look forward to several more before it leaves the cinemas. If you haven't seen it yet, see it now! Nothing can equal the silver screen when it comes to presenting epic motion pictures. Home theatres just don't cut it.

I finally saw Gangs of New York on Sunday night. I'll save my comments for the next update.

On the Telly

Started watching Coronation Street again a while back, but missed the omni on Sunday. Not too bothered about it. Watched the previous week's omni on video whilst playing checkers (a.k.a. draughts) at SuperKids.com. It was that exciting. For those bewildered by the use of the Latin prefix "omni" in the preceding random splatter of words, Coronation Street is broadcast two ways in Ontario, Canada: as four episodes of thirty minutes each from Monday through Thursday, or as a single mega-episode of two hours on Sunday mornings. If you find all this fascinating, you can explore the world of Weatherfield (a fictional suburb of Manchester, England) at Corrie.net. But you're not that hard up, I say, you're not that hard up, are you? (Sorry. Coro joke.)

I'll keep posting if you keep reading. Be seeing you...       :-?
