Site-Seeing
I do not own one of those bulky, instantly outdated, single-volume encyclopaedias of all films ever made, but until I do, the best reference I have discovered on the subject is the Internet Movie Database. I can search for movies, actors, directors, and writers, and nearly everything is cross-referenced. Can't remember the name of an actor or actress? Type in the name of a movie in which they appeared and get the entire cast listed with parts played. Can't recall a movie's title? Type in the name of at least one cast member who was in the movie and it will list every movie in which they have appeared, in order, with dates. I am also fond of the voting feature and its ability to keep a record of my voting history. Foreign films are not neglected by this website, and there are many international visitors and voters. Och, and did I mention you can post reviews? Suffice it to say, 'tis free, and a Site worth Seeing!

From the Bookshelf
My move to my new domicile has prevented me from making any progress on the two books I started, The Gangs of New York by Herbert Asbury and Salamander by Thomas Wharton. As soon as I finish one, though, I want to read Casino Royale by Ian Fleming. His James Bond books are finally returning to print, thanks to Penguin.

At the Cinema
On Saturday the 14th I saw Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain or simply Amélie with my friends and colleagues Kelly and Becky. I am not prepared to make a detailed analysis of the film, or even to discuss my personal feelings about it, but I will say "See it."
See it.

BONJOUR!
15 September A.D. 2002 I have been very busy of late with the move to my new abode. Now all I have to do is unpack these boxes and decide where to put everything. This is no small task, considering I haven't enough shelves for all my books.
Despite the upheaval, I have kept my promise to update the Cuparium at reasonable intervals. I know this isn't much of an update, but it's something. This week the update consists primarily of the transferrence of a feature from the old Cuparium to its new and better home here, located on the nonsense page. The feature in question is Engravings by Heck; Comments by Cuparius, which will be familiar to some of you. The "current" installment was first posted on the thirty-first of December, but I assure you there will be a new installment as soon as I can remember where I put J.G. Heck's book. It's in one of these boxes...
The words page is now online, and its first feature is here. 'Tis a start, anyway.
My objective is to update this website every Wednesday night. Fingers crossed. Och, that makes typing difficult. Maybe I had better not cross them.
I'll keep posting if you keep reading. Be seeing you... :-?
